Creating a Neighbourhood Plan

A Neighbourhood Plan gives communities statutory powers to shape local development. The process is community led, with consultation and local involvement built in at every stage, and the final Plan has to be put to a Referendum.  For more information visit    https://neighbourhoodplanning.org.

The Plan will have statutory force, alongside the South Staffordshire Local Plan. It must take account of existing plans and legislation, including Strategic and Local Development Plans, and the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).  The latest versions of these documents may be found at https://www.sstaffs.gov.uk/ (search on Local Plan)  and https://www.gov.uk  (search on NPPF).

The main processes involved in creating a Neighbourhood Plan are shown below.  The proposed Kinver Neighbourhood Plan was submitted to South Staffordshire District Council for 6-week consultation (“Regulation 16”) in December 2022.
